Reunion Square is situated on about nine acres in the Anacostia area of Washington D.C. and will undergo a neighborhood revitalization through development of 1.6 million square foot of mixed use buildings. The buildings will be of varying heights across the site, taking cues from the residential neighborhood to the south, the street front of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave and the historic Anacostia overlay district.
The intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and W Street, a future epicenter of urban vitality in Anacostia, will become a transformed place. Improvements in streetscape, landscaping, circulation and the accommodation of building typologies will contribute to the enhanced environment. The mixed-use development will include public amenities, such as an accessible park, community center, and the World’s Largest Chair. Reunion Square sits at the intersections of history and future, neighborhood and city.
